Einstein Moves to the United States


Einstein visited the United States in 1933 as he considered joining Caltech. During his stay, Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany, making it unsafe for Einstein to return home due to his Jewish heritage. This prompted him to permanently emigrate to the US. While there as a visitor, Einstein went to the Hopi House near the Grand Canyon. The native tribe welcomed him warmly and even allowed him to wear a traditional Hopi headdress.
